Charlie-Thornberry Farmers Want to Fill You Up with a Texas Tradition

Local farmers say though they continue to battle the blazing Texas heat and dry conditions, there's one crop that does pretty well in this type of weather: black eyed peas.
Area farmers are growing plenty of the Texas tradition, and now they want to share it with you.
Tomorrow is black eyed pea day at the Downtown Wichita Falls Farmers Market at 8th and Ohio.
Customers at the market can get free samples of locally grown black eyed peas and homemade cornbread from 9 to 11 tomorrow morning.
That's compliments of the of the Charlie-Thornberry Farmers Association.
The market will be open its normal hours, 7:30 a.m. until 5 in the evening.
