A ribbon cutting was held this morning for Community Healthcare Center's new dental clinic.
The 13,000 square foot facility has 23 dental rooms, a state-of-the-art sterilization room and a surgery room, which the old clinic did not have.
Although today was the grand opening of the clinic, staff actually started seeing patients early last month.
And officials say the dental staff has been busy.
"We've got the ability now just to continue to expand services for those that need it. So, access to care is what we've always talked about and this provides us that opportunity to be part of that solution and give people affordable care," says Phyllis Hiraki, CEO of Community Healthcare Center.
Since the clinic opened officials say no oral surgeries have been performed.
However, they say more than 1,100 people have visited the clinic and 857 patients have received treatment.
