Nocona is going all out to become known as the classic car capital of Texas and this weekend there will be plenty of evidence on display to back up that claim. Cruisin' Nocona begins Friday morning and runs through Saturday.
There will be car shows, classic and muscle cars on parade, a poker run, live music, food and other vendors. Vicari auctions of Louisiana and now, also of Nocona, will auction 200 cars. Plus you can take tours of the Horton Classic Car Museum both days.
Included in the auction, a recently discovered and extremely rare 12 cylinder 1940 Lincoln Zephyr Coupe. Only 54 were made and this one had been in storage in a Texas barn for more than 50 years. Also at the event, a rare 1965 amphi-car made in Germany which can go directly from land into water.
The weekend begins Friday with a sausage and biscuit breakfast at the Church of Christ from 7 to 10 followed by events and shows and then The Josh Weathers Band at 7 p.m. On Saturday a pancake breakfast is from 7 to 10 followed by shows, music, a fish fry and more into the night.
