The Holliday city council voted during a special session last night to move to Stage 4 water restrictions.
They adopted restrictions that mirror those in Wichita Falls with no outside watering allowed but voted to make the following changes:
The council decided to allow the watering of livestock.
Home foundations can be watered but only with a soaker hose and only during the hours of 8 p.m. to midnight on designated days.
City officials say residents will be allowed 13,000 gallons of water each month and for every 1,000 gallons they go over that amount they will receive a $7 surcharge on their bill starting next month.
Although city officials expect to have the regulations on the city's website in a few days they say the restrictions will take effect immediately.
