There's a big city wide garage sale this weekend and one of the booths will be helping a woman in her fight against cancer.
Debra Baker, the owner of Debra's Alterations, was diagnosed with endometrial cancer last month.
She's set to have surgery at the end of the month and the medical bills are already soaring into the tens of thousands of dollars, even with a small part of the procedure being covered by insurance.
So her friends are jumping into action to help her with those mounting costs.
Jim Stout who organized the fundraiser said, "My heart goes out to this person who helps me out. It's time for me to help her. If more people felt that way it might be a better place around here. "
I haven't let this get me down at all. i've stayed positive and i'm really upbeat about the whole thing. I pray for a good turn out. I hope there's a lot of people who come and get them a big barbecue plate," said Baker.
You can help just by going shopping and stopping for lunch tomorrow.
The benefit cookout for Debra at the city wide garage sale tomorrow at Parker Square. Jim Stout of Farmall Grill in Seymour will be cooking barbeque, sausage, and mexican ribs.
Stop by, check out all the items up for sale, and stop by Jim's booth for lunch!
