After letting their burn ban expire in late February in the hopes some rain would arrive, Clay County commissioners have enacted a new ban.

Clay County commissioners enacted a 30 day burn ban Monday.

Under the ban, outdoor burning is prohibited with certain exemptions, such as for agriculture, firefighter training and prescribed burns, welding with proper precautions and notification, and outdoor cooking in enclosed pits or covered grills.
