Community Rallies Around Popular Waiter

WICHITA FALLS - A mistaken identity posted on social media, could have cost a popular Wichita Falls waiter a lot of his livelihood in tips, until an outpouring of support and outrage came to his rescue.

We spoke with Anthony "BoBo" Eaden as he sang, joked and served his loyal customers at Golden Corral, Friday. And the outpouring of support from the community has truly touched him.

After someone mistook and posted a mug of a different man as him, social media was flooded with comments from people about how much they love BoBo.

We found out BoBo sees his job not just as putting drinks and plates down for customers but also putting smiles on their faces, and some customers even insist on sitting in his section.

"We think he has the best personality in Wichita Falls,"  said Bob Winkler, one of those customers that has to sit in BoBo's section. "And golly, it would be so neat if most everybody had that type of personality. He makes our day for us."

But this week, we ran a story on a 47-year-old man facing child endangerment charges after authorities say a 7-year-old who was in his care tested positive for cocaine and meth.

And someone on social media, mistook him for Eaden and posted that "this is BoBo who works at Golden Corral."

"She could have at least apologized," Eaden said.

Hundreds of people, expressed their love for him, someone they say is a hometown hero.

"I come in being myself and a lot of people seem to like that," he said. "That was nice and want to tell them all thank y'all. Thank you very much."

For the last 14 years, BoBo has made many friends while working at Golden Corral, but that was a job he said he never thought he would be doing.

"I thought I would be playing football, basketball. some where. That's what I thought, that's I what I wanted anyway. But this is even better."

"They say 'BoBo every time I come in here, I come in here just about every day, every time I come in here you act like you have the same attitude. And I tell them one thing, the reason I do that is because I leave all of my problems on the outside of the door."

And that positive outlook on life is something that he hopes to pass on to each and every person he meets.

BoBo said that he's known the other man for most of his life and has heard many people say they do look alike, but this time, it could have cost him his livelihood.
