Community Wide Art Project is Bringing Color To Town

"Don't fence me in" A public art project is giving you an opportunity to add a little color and inspiration to Wichita Falls.

The Wichita Falls Alliance for Arts and Culture invites you to help with "the fence" on June first during the art walk.
The fence will transform the median between Kell East and Kell West at Travis Street into an outdoor gallery.

The idea for the theme pays homage to the song called "Don't fence me in"  lyrics which have been sung by numerous artists including Roy Rogers and Ella Fitzgerald.

"It says "Oh, give me land, lots of land under starry skies above... Don't fence me in.' and basically what this project is, is we want the children, actually, we've made it a community-wide event and we want everyone to express themselves on one single picket." Vanessa Alonzo Wichita Falls Alliance for arts and culture program coordinator

If you want to help with the project, they are asking for donations of pickets 3 and a half inches by 6 feet.
