Wichita County Commissioners are one step closer to building the Glen Eickman Memorial Pavilion.
This morning, commissioners approved Fulton Construction of Wichita Falls to build the pavilion at the Wichita County Cemetery.
The memorial would be named after Glen Eickman, the former Wichita County Veteran Services Officer, who started fundraising for the project before his death in 2011.
The pavilion was expected to cost $35,000 but Judge Woody Gossom says Fulton Construction won the bid for a total of $27,500.
So far, about $23,000 have been raised from previous fundraising and the sale of memorial bricks.
Engraved memorial bricks are still available for purchase at $50 each.
