This morning, organizers set up for the convention, which started at 5:30 this evening at the MPEC.
Thousands of people from across the US are attending.
Organizers say they're pumped about what the convention does for the local economy.
JoAnn Baker, the vice president of the Texas Alliance of Energy producers, says, "This year we have over 360 exhibitors, and they're from all over the country. We've sold out seven or eight hotels. They eat in our restaurants, they fill up our cars, and they see our city."
Through direct, indirect, and induced economic activity, it's estimated the convention will bring nearly $3-million to the city.
The convention continues through tomorrow evening.
