Cotton Co. Jail Inmate Escapes Overnight

The search is on for an inmate who escaped from the Cotton County Jail.

45-year-old Robert Lee Turk is still on the run. Authorities say he should be considered armed and dangerous.

Jail officials say Turk who was behind bars for 2 felony charges escaped around 11:20 Sunday night. His charges include shooting with intent to kill and felony possession of a firearm.

Turk has been in the Cotton County Jail since July 9th, and authorities say this is his second time to flee. He attempted to flee on July 10th according to authorities, but only got as far as the parking lot before he was taken back into custody.

Officials say at least 10 agencies are assisting in the search at this time.

Turk is bald and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing black shorts and a white shirt.
