In an effort to eliminate bag pollution nine Texas communities have created different kinds of ordinances, bans or fees.
So is this a measure we could soon seen here in Wichita Falls?
Mayor Glenn Barham says so far, there has been no discussion on the matter.
Dallas is the latest Texas city to require retailers to charge customers a five cent fee for using single use plastic or paper bags.
Retailers must also register with the city and track the amount of single use bags sold.
Here in Texoma there are mixed opinions on whether or not residents would want to see similar measures taken.
“It might get most of us thinking about it a little harder, it probably would me, it could sneak in on your grocery bill a little bit,” said Sue Hempfling.
“You are just putting more on your grocery bill, groceries are high enough as it is. It's hard enough to feed your family, and the price of groceries are going up so why put that extra money on if you don't have to,” said Pauline Uttke.
