Councilors Approve Project to Eliminate Rusty Water at Local Homes

Residents of one area of Wichita Falls who say they've been receiving rusty, brown-colored city water in their homes should soon no longer have that problem.
That's after city councilors approved a project that will replace deteriorated piping on Buchanan Street, from Avenue H to 10th Streets.
Officials say they've received numerous complaints from residents in that area.
They say they've been receiving brown-colored water was coming through their home faucets.
The project will cost about $600-thousand.
It will replace deteriorated cast iron water mains with new PBC pipes.
City officials say this won't fix all the water problems in the city, but it's a step in the right direction.
