Severe weather kept several large jets on the ground at the Wichita Falls Airport this morning, but not because of weather here. It was stormy weather in the Metroplex that forced rerouting and delays of flights. Seven planes were rerouted from the D.W.F. Airport to Wichita Falls this morning. Six of those planes were able to leave by 2 p.m. but one remained grounded due to mechanical problems. It also meant travelers trying to leave Wichita Falls saw delays and cancellations because the local flights here could not land at D.W.F., but its something that's not uncommon here in the severe weather season.

The Wichita Falls Airport Director, LeAnn Moran says, "not only are we happy to help D.F.W. and the airline carriers to provide a good service but yes, we do actually make some money off of that, so it's not a bad thing."

The storms that moved through the Metroplex this morning also left some 20,000 residents without power.
