Hundreds found a fun way to get up and active Saturday morning.

United Regional hosted its first Dance Dash 5K in support of the Children's Miracle Network at the MPEC Saturday.

Organizers say they're really excited about the turnout for the event.

"It feels great, I think everybody's enjoyed it, um, we had a great turnout this morning. We had 410 participants and we've raised somewhere over 21 thousand dollars,” says Amber Gee, Children's Miracle Network Specialist.

United Regional will use the money raised from the fundraiser to buy the latest equipment and provide the best education and training for its employees.

Because of Saturday's success, organizers say they hope to make the Dance Dash 5K an annual event.
