Residents in Olney wanting to raise funds to open the city pool will have to wait another week before finding out if they will be allowed to start collecting money.
The Olney City Council met on Monday evening to determine whether residents will be allowed to haul in water to fill the city pool after stage four restrictions forced its closure.
Olney City Administrator Danny Parker says the council postponed the decision because they do not want to jeopardize any of the children's health.
He says he'll call the health department on Tuesday to make sure they are following the right procedures.
Parker says they have to consider things like potable water, suitable transportation that won't contaminate the water and lifeguards.
"We appreciate the effort of the citizens and it's kind of nice that they've taken an interest and wanted to do something like this but we do want to be careful and make sure we're going to do everything the right way," Parker says.
The Olney City Council will hold a special meeting on June 17 to make a final decision on the project.
