"I was just on my way to Wichita Falls for a doctor's appointment, and I just seen that pull up and stop. I thought, I'm going to make the block and see if I can catch them, and I come back around and sure enough I did," said Childers after he stumbled upon the Pay it Forward location.
So Delton and I loaded up in the Pay it Forward truck, and made our way back to Megargel, so Delton could give back to his friend, B.J. Hearne.
Delton said, "She always has a smile on her face and she always takes things real well. And I just love the lady."
B.J. is suffering from complications from Type 2 diabetes and peripheral artery disease. B.J. regularly drives to her doctor in Olney. For the past year and a half, B.J. has had to deal with a wound on her leg and she needs it cleaned, medicated, and wrapped on a regular basis.
B.J. said of her struggles, "I do real good if I can walk to the road and back. And that's because of the peripheral artery disease," said Hearne.
While most of the $300 will be going to doctor bills, $30 will be going to starting a healthier lifestyle by purchasing a gym membership.
"I think if I could build my legs up, I think that would help a whole lot."
B.J. is thankful for the help, but even more thankful for her friend, Delton.
She said of Delton, "I love him with all my heart, he is my best friend. And I am so proud of him for thinking of me."
