Deputies Say Woman Rammed SAFB Entrance with Car, Started Chase

The woman who Wichita County sheriff's deputies say rammed her car into the entrance gate at Sheppard Air Force Base before leading authorities on a chase is now behind bars.
Lt. George Robinson with the Wichita County Sheriff's Office says around 11 last night, Sheppard Air Force Base security forces called for back up when a woman drove her car into the front entrance gate then sped away towards Iowa Park.
Robinson says she was driving at very high speeds and swerving all over the road.
He says at one point she was driving the wrong way on 287 facing northbound traffic.
Sheriff's deputies laid spike strips on southbound 287 near the Huntington Lane exit.
The woman eventually came to a stop after the front tires were blown out.
Authorities say 48-year-old Sarah Louise Wilks was the driver of that vehicle.
She was arrested at the scene and is charged with driving while intoxicated as well as evading arrest or detention in a motor vehicle.
She's being held in Wichita County Jail on a $75-hundred bond.
