Donations Sought for United Way's Day of Action

The United Way is hoping you will take action this weekend and help some area children in need.

The non-profit organization has already started collecting items for its Day of Action.

They will go to children in need through the Adopt-A-Box program but coordinators say more items are needed, which is where you can help.
"We need shampoo, conditioner, body wash, deodorant.  Any personal hygiene item that will give these kids the fresh start that they deserve so they can be ready to learn," says Alicia Christoff, with North Texas Area United Way.

The United Way's Day of Action is tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Walmarts on Lawrence Road and Central Freeway.

Volunteers will be at the entrance collecting items as you enter the store or come out.

However, they say if you bring items from home, please make sure they are unused or unopened.
