The smells of fresh, locally-grown fruits and vegetables are taking over downtown Wichita Falls, and that's because the Downtown Wichita Falls Farmers Market is now open.
The market opened at 7:30 this morning.
It was originally scheduled to open Saturday, so it opened several days earlier than planned.
And that's because farmer's say they have plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables to go around.
They say more fresh goods could be on the way.
Terry Parks with Terry Parks Produce says, "If the weather stays like it is and we get a little rainfall like we've been getting, the cooler temperatures and the rain helps the crops."
The Downtown Wichita Falls Farmers Market is at 8th and Ohio.
Regular hours are 7:30 to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
Senior citizen vouchers are being accepted again this year.
You can get those at the food bank at 1230 Midwestern Pkwy.
