After almost four months of construction, the emergency water reuse pipeline is complete.

Contractors started laying and fuzing it in August,  and now all 12 miles are in place.

The pipe goes from the River Road Wastewater Treatment Plant to the Cypress Water Treatment Plant.

And right now, crews are connecting the pipeline to the Cypress Plant, a job that's supposed to be complete by Christmas.

The emergency water reuse pipeline will take water that runs down our sinks,  and gets flushed down our toilets, and will treat it 4  times, before putting it back into our potable water supply.

And, that's expected to make up one third of our supply.

Public Works Director,  Russell Schreiber says he expects testing on the whole system will begin the first week of January.
