A man authorities say escaped from the Murray County Jail in Sulphur, Oklahoma back on May 23 is back in Oklahoma after being captured and jailed in Vernon over the weekend.

Wilbarger County jail officials say 52-year-old Roger Goodall signed extradition papers and was transferred Tuesday morning.

He was arrested Saturday at a Vernon motel by Texas Rangers and U.S. Marshals after a tip was received.

Authorities believe he escaped with the help of his wife, who faces charges for aiding his escape.

Goodall was jailed in Sulphur while awaiting transfer to prison to serve time for assault with a dangerous weapon.
