Family members hosted a benefit to help Andrea Garcia to raise money for her medical bills.
"There's a lot of people I don't know so I guess they're willing to support anybody," Wichita Falls resident, Andrea Garcia, says.
Andrea Garcia was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer just after her 29th birthday.
She was then sent to MD Anderson in Houston for treatment.
On Saturday, family and friends banded together to help raise money for her medical bills.
"We got the word out on Facebook, she has her own page with her slogan right here which is Angels for Andrea. We've all put out our word for her with flyers, I mean everywhere we go," family member Lisa Garcia says.
They say Andrea is someone who always gives back to others and now it's time to give back to her.
"She helps out anybody that she comes in contact with, so this is just our way of helping her through her time of need and you know being a part of her support group you know to help her," says family member Susie Garcia.
A silent auction, enchilada plates donated from El Chico Mexican Restaurant, and of course Angels For Andrea shirts were for sale at the event.
People flooded through the doors nearly an hour before the benefit started.
Andrea said she's shocked and more than thankful for all of the support.
"Obviously I have a lot of people behind me, I didn't realize that I knew that many people but everybody's here to support me and my family and I appreciate that and it does say a lot about the community," Andrea says.
And it's family and the community that Andrea says have been getting her through.
And the goal of Saturday's event was to raise five thousand dollars.
