Family and friends gathered today at Henrietta High School to celebrate the life of a Jessica Rogers, who died Friday morning in a car accident.
"It's a great loss. And I think Jessica would want people to know that this needs to be an eye opener for what can happen in an instant," said Jeannie Klump, who attended church with Jessica.
"Jessica was just this godly lady. We went to church, we would go out to dinner. She was just someone that you could go to for anything. She was so welcoming to all the freshman, she just lifted you up whenever you were around her," said Haley McCrary, who went to Hardin Simmons with Jessica.
Jessica Rogers graduated from Henrietta High School and attended Hardin Simmons University.
Troopers say Rogers was driving to Abilene on her way to Hardin Simmons when she slammed into the back of a semi.
Rogers was a month shy of celebrating her 21st birthday.
