Farmers Market to Stay Open Later

It was a pretty tough year for local fruit and vegetable growers.

But things began looking better with the cooler weather and rain showers of late summer and early fall.

The Downtown Farmers Market is staying open later in the year to make up for some of the bad weeks.

They are open Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon at 8th and Ohio.

You may be able to find sweet potatoes, okra, squash, black eyed peas, cantaloupes and lots more.
