A local organization dished up a hearty serving of Christmas cheer today.
Volunteers at the Felix Lister Elks Lodge once again opened their doors to serve folks a free meal.
They cooked up turkey with all the fixins'!
It's a tradition they started back in 2001 and those serving say giving their time on Christmas day brought them great joy!
"We are ejnoying it. We got a chance to get started Thanksgiving. It's not quite as big as it was when we were doing the deliveries but it's going good," says Diana Wyatt, with Felix Lister Elks Lodge #1217.
Coordinators say donations from the area businesses, residents and even people who ate Thanksgiving lunch with them made today possible.
Lodge officials hoped to serve about 100 people.
