Fiery Crash Closes One Lane of Highway 287 for Several Hours

Another semi truck caught fire on Highway 287, just outside of  Wichita Falls, closing one lane of the highway for more than six hours today.

DPS troopers say in happened around 7:40 a.m. on Northbound 287 near Fisher Road.

Officials say a semi, with a trailer full of books, ran into the back of the a wrecker causing both vehicles to run off the highway and into a ditch.

Officials say the 18 wheeler flipped onto its side and immediately caught fire from a ruptured fuel line.

The wreckage was finally cleared off by around 2 p.m.

Thankfully no one was hurt.
