This was members of the Irving-Carrollton NAACP branch's fifth stop on their financial literacy workshop tour.
The workshop focuses on the basics of borrowing money and the keys to gaining financial freedom.
And the organization's president says the workshop's goal is to help you learn how to make your money work for you, instead of you working for your money.
"What our goal is with these workshops is to teach you how to budget better and maintain your finances better and to live within your means," NAACP Irving-Carrollton branch president Tony Grimes says.
Grimes says everyone's income is different, and he says that's why it's important to help people from all different income brackets learn how to live within their means.
