Neighbors along McNiel, between Phillips and Southwest Parkway,  will be one step closer Monday to no longer having to worry about flooding.

The first step of the 2013 sanitary sewer rehabilitation project is expected to start on Moffet Street Monday.

When the project is complete, Mcniel residents will have a new drainage system.

But before that part of the project can begin, sewer lines at Moffet and Rugley will be raised near Kemp, so the drainage boxes can be installed on Mcniel.

A&M Construction and Utilities will be doing the work on Moffet Street and that part of the project is expected to cost a little over 640- thousand dollars.

The entire Mcniel drainage project is expected to be finished by December 2015 and will cost five million dollars.
