Flu-Like Illnesses Reported in North Texas Counties

- It may not be the flu that's going around but a flu-like bug is biting around several North Texas counties.

The Texas Department of State Health Services is reporting cases of flu-like symptoms in Wichita, Wilbarger, Montague, Baylor and Knox Counties.

Health officials say symptoms that have sent patients to emergency rooms and doctor's offices include respiratory illnesses, like rhinovirus and sinus infection, that mimic the flu but do not test positive for the virus.

Health officials also say influenza-like illnesses do not include fever and body aches, which are the trademark symptoms of the flu.
