A former Altus cop wants his trial for receiving stolen property moved to another location.

Russell Hansel and another officer, Jose Arce were arrested in February of 2013 after a six-month investigation by the Altus Police Department with assistance of the FBI.

Arce pleaded guilty earlier this year to 3 of four counts of receiving stolen property. He received two years deferred probation.

Hansel's attorney filed a motion for a change of venue for his trial which was granted. The date and location of the trial has not been filed on the record yet.

According to Altus Police Chief, Tim Murphy, Hansel and Arce were recorded with surveillance cameras buying stolen property. Hansel had been on the force 17 years and Arce for 11.
