A former Childress teacher's aide is sentenced to prison after taking a 15-year-old student to Oklahoma to have sex with her.
In November 2012, 38-year-old Shanice Adel Lambert pleaded guilty to travel with intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct and was sentenced Monday to 30 months in prison after reaching a plea deal. Lambert had been working as a teacher's aide with the Childress Independent School District when she had begun a relationship with the boy.
Authorites say she recorded the boy's sexual activity and sent it to multiple states, then enticed him to go with her to an Altus hotel for sex. During her sentencing in Amarillo's federal court, Lambert cried and pleaded with Judge Mary Lou Robinson for a chance to return to her husband and children, saying she will live with the shame the rest of her life.
She was indicted on charges of production of child pornography, enticement of a minor, and transportation of a minor to engage in criminal sexual activity.
