Former Electra Police Chief Appointed Chief in Chillicothe

Residents in Chillicothe now have a permanent Police Chief. City councilors have  appointed former Electra Police Chief Michael Hopkins as Police Chief after he completed his  probationary period there.
Hopkins was Chief at Electra until September 2015 when the city council terminated him.

Reasons for his dismissal were not revealed for some time and  later two reasons were given, inaccurate time sheets and a ding on his patrol car he had not gotten repaired. His dismissal brought a petition to have him reinstated that gathered almost 200 signatures.

Now that he is Chillicothe's  permanent chief, Hopkins says one of his priorities will be to get all residents to mark their home addresses clearly so the out of town first responders can quickly locate the right home.
