Former Employee Pleads Guilty To An Inside Theft

A  former Auto Parts store employee pleads in connection to an inside theft in the O'reilly store on kemp and is sentenced.

Jonathan Saenz-Meza pleaded guilty to theft and received a 5-year deferred probation and a $750 fine. He and a co-defendant must also pay about $4,000 restitution to the business.

Saenz-Meza and two alleged accomplices were arrested after an investigation into a reported armed robbery at the store in October.

Saenz-Meza said he had opened the store and was counting money from the safe when a black male robbed him at gunpoint and took more than 28-hundred dollars in two bank bags.

However, police obtained surveillance video from cameras from a  nearby business that showed  the entire parking lot of the store, and said  that in that time period, there was no suspect or  car matching the  descriptions given by Saenz-Mesa.

Two days later, police say he admitted making a false report and told them he took the money bags  and put them in a dumpster in the parking lot, so an accomplice,  brian boggs, could remove them and then hide them elsewhere for a third accomplice to pick up.

Another armed robbery at the same store was reported a few months earlier.
