A former Lowe's employee is charged with using a city of Wichita Falls credit card number to make unauthorized purchases.

28-year-old Alicia Espinoza is charged with credit card abuse.

According to an arrest affidavit, city officials noticed one of their accounts had been compromised. Records showed four unauthorized charges totaling more than $1200 were made at Lowe's home improvement store during three days in April.

The affidavit states Espinoza was already under investigation for theft and she provided a written statement admitting to theft by fraud.

She also reportedly admitted to accepting money from certain people she knew and charging items to accounts like the city of Wichita Falls to creating overages and to switching valid gift cards with some that had no value.

Espinoza is out of the Wichita County Jail on bond.
