The former director of the Grace Ministries Outreach in Burkburnett is charged with burglarizing and taking items from that center last weekend.
59-year-old Melvin Feller is charged with burglary of a building. He received a $5,000 bond and is no longer in the county jail.
Police say they received a call from the director last Saturday saying he got an alert about 11 pm Friday night from the security system that someone had entered the building on 3rd Street.
He said he had installed security cameras back in November because items had been disappearing for some time. Officers viewed the video and say it shows Feller removing food, household items and, boxes out the back door.
They say it also shows Feller shutting off lights and looking out the rear door toward the back of the Burkburnett Police Department before coming out with the items. Police also say video footage from a business across the street shows a person leaving Feller's office and walking to Grace and entering it.
On a web page called melfeller.com, it lists numerous civic organizations with which he had been involved or served as an officer in the past, including The Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club, Board of Economic Development and others.
He is listed as a financial consultant and real estate advisor.
