Four Arrested In Connection To Murder Of Iowa Park Native

Four people are now under arrest on complaints of 1st-degree murder after the shooting death of an OU Sophomore from Iowa Park.

Norman police say the four suspects were all there when Nathan Ewing was shot just about an hour before his 20th birthday.

Public information Officer, Sara Jenson says two of them got out of an SUV to talk with Nathan and someone who was with Nathan. Jenson says something went wrong very quickly.

Witnesses told police the two men tried to rob Nathan and the passenger two shots were fired and the passenger was able to run away.

Nathan was shot in the stomach, he passed away from his injuries about 7- hours later at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City.

Norman police say 20- year- old Tyrek Ladarius Turner and 19- year- old Armani Ashanti Morgan are both in the Cleveland County Detention Center on a complaint of first-degree murder, As are two 17- year old males.

Jenson says they should go before a judge tomorrow or Friday. Then there will be a special hearing before a judge determines if the 17- year olds will be tried as youthful offenders or adults.

If they're going to be tried as adults their names will then be released.

Friday, the family will gather for a visitation to remember Nathan's life, from 6 until 8 at Dutton Funeral Home.

His funeral is scheduled for 11 Saturday morning at Faith Baptist Church in Iowa Park.
