Freedom Care Warrior Project board members have already hosted a number of fundraisers to keep their mission going.

And those funds have been used for lodges, bunk beds, and decorations for the cabins out at the ranch in Graham.

Organizers say the ranch isn't only about helping the veterans.

Jon van Winkle, who's the founder of the Freedom Care Warrior Project, says, "It's the veteran's family.  When they come back from combat, they've seen some traumatic things.  It's hard for them to reconnect.  The Warrior Ranch gives them that peace of mind.  There's nobody shooting them out here.  There's nobody harming them."

While at the ranch, veterans of all branches of service and their families can hunt, fish, shoot skeet, fly kites, and enjoy the great outdoors.

Members of the general public can rent out the ranch, too, and all the proceeds will benefit the project.
