Here at home, folks are ready to spend the evening celebrating out at Sheppard Air Force Base at this year's Freedom Fest. That is where we find David Gonzalez who has more on what you can expect from the big independence day event.

There are fun activities planned for people of all ages at this year's Freedom Fest. Right now, folks are beginning to fill the area where the event is taking place. As you can see, there are a lot of things for you to enjoy including live performances from Miyagi, AA Bottom and the Dirty River Boys. For 5 dollars, kids can have unlimited access to the play area like bounce houses and more.

If you do plan to make it out to Sheppard, make sure to use the Missile Road Gate entrance. Sheppard officials say large bags, coolers, or alcohol will "not" be allowed on base. They do urge you to bring mosquito repellent, and folding chairs or blankets to watch the fireworks.

Speaking of the fireworks, Sheppard officials say they've been hard at work since this morning setting up for the big fireworks show that they say will last about 20 minutes. The fireworks display will get underway at 10 o'clock.
