Foard County Sheriff's Office representatives say the fire started around 3:30 a.m. in the northwest part of the county.
At this point, it's unclear how or where the fire started and the state fire marshal is still investigating.
Officials there say they're waiting on information to come back from the medical examiner before their report can be released.
Anthony Mathis, a longtime friend of the family, says they can be described in one way: "Close-knit. Very close-knit, very caring. So far, it's been very difficult on them."
Family means everything to the Moras and their extended kin, which is why going through this terrible tragedy is so hard.
Sixty-two year-old Leon Crabtree, 31-year-old Vidal Santos Mora, and six-year-old Jorge Mora, all of Burk, died in a weekend fire on a deer lease in Foard County.
Friends say Vidal will forever be remembered as a hero as he saved the life of another six-year-old who survived the blaze.
"By knocking out an A.C. unit and forcing his son out of it when he couldn't escape," Mathis says. "He tried to do the same for Jorge, but it was too late."
Ceryse Chauvin, also a friend of the family, says, "Jorge was a very fun, outgoing kid. Just like any other six-year-old. Just running around ready to have fun all the time. Constantly making people laugh and telling jokes. He was just one of those kids that you just wanted to grab up and just love."
"He was always in a good mood and he could always put a smile on somebody's face. He did mine," Mathis says.
"We are out to help this family in this time of need because this is something that I don't think I could ever go through," Chauvin says.
Amanda Leudtke, also a family friend, says, "We want people to know that Burk is a team at the end of the day. We all come together because it could be any of us, and we would all want the same response."
And one of the ways they're doing that is by hosting a garage sale to raise money for the families affected.
That sale is a week from this Saturday on November 2 at Jubilee Christian Center in Burk.
That's at 403 South Ave. D.
Organizers will be accepting donations there tomorrow from 6 p.m. until dark.
For more donation information, call Amanda at (940) 867-9968 or Ceryse at (940) 781-1665.
The Burk Boys and Girls Club will be accepting donations for the family outside United in Burk from 4:15-5:30 p.m. tomorrow.
There's also an account set up for them at Fidelity Bank called "Jorge Mora Benefit Fund."
Here's funeral information for the victims:
Services for Crabtree were Thursday.
Services for Vidal Santos Mora will be Friday at 5 p.m. at the Owens and Brumley Funeral Home in Burk.
Jorge Mora will be remembered at a memorial service at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Jude Catholic Church.
