Another chain burger place is open in Wichita Falls.
Five Guys Burgers and Fries in Wichita Falls brought a packed house and a long line to the new eating place but this eatery is just one of several businesses that will soon open.
Chick-Fil-A will open next Thursday just down the street.
And less than a block from Chick-Fil-A sold signs show where more businesses will open.
"A natural foods grocery story is going to open up there and then right around the corner from... uh... on Call Field right down from McAlister's and Mazzio's Pizza... there's gonna be a new super Braums that goes there," says Paul Clark, a partner with Schaff and Clark.
This area is already booming.
That's why the city of Wichita Falls realigned the intersection of Lawrence/Call Field and Rhea roads last year to ease congestion from the anticipated growth.
And city traffic officials say that project has helped.
"During the holiday time periods. Before we ran the traffic signals on 180 second cycle length. We've been able to back that off on our worst ever peak during the last Christmas rush down to 120 seconds so we still have a minutes worth of growth to get back to where we were before," says Mark Beauchamp, traffic supervisor for the City of Wichita Falls.
Although a few businesses have committed to building on this big plot of land where the St. Gobain warehouse once stood, plans are in the works to fill it completely.
But whether it's with clothing stores or restaurants, one resident says it's a plus for the city.
"Gives us more options. Gives us a different place to go to experience. We get the DFW look and feel of all the other restaurants that we don't have here," says Bryan Webster, a Wichita Falls resident.
According to city traffic officials there is no room to widen Lawrence/Call Field & Rhea Roads even more but there are other plans in place to address future congestion.
The area around those intersections is not the only location being eyed by companies.
Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers will open at Lawrence and Kell and La Quinta Inn will soon be under construction on Maplewood Avenue.
