Almost 4 years after downtown proud made a re-investment into downtown Wichita Falls and purchased the original Zales building at 8th and Ohio, the building has a new owner.
Ganache Cupcake Lounge has bought the building and will soon have a presence downtown.
Since September 2013 Downtown Proud has been renovating the building and bringing it back to its original glory.
It was built in 1884 and became the very first Zales jewelry store in 1924.
Now one year after it received a historical marker from the Texas Historical Commission, Ganache is moving in.
After so much effort in getting the building refurbished and restored and now seeing that investment pay off those with Downtown Proud are certainly elated.
Amber Schacter owns Ganache and The Yard, the Wichita Falls Food Park.
She's extremely excited about being a part of the renaissance of downtown.
"We'll have lunch and dinner and a full bar. I'm most excited about what we're calling the Morris Supper Club. It's going to be a fine dining, white table cloth dining room that's going to be downtown. We'll have an international wine list especially curated, whiskey list that's available," Ganache Owner Amber Schacter said.
Schacter says they've been looking for the perfect location to expand, and the Zales location downtown is just that.
Ganache hopes to be open in downtown Wichita Falls sometime in September.
