Garza Capital Murder Trial Date Set

- After his trial date was reset because a key witness couldn't make it, a new trial date is set for an uncooperative murder defendant.

Jerry Joe Garza will go to trial for in McKinney November 17.

It was moved because of extensive media coverage here.

Garza's charged with capital murder in the death of 32-year-old Monica Partida, his former girlfriend.

In February 2012, she was found fatally stabbed at her home on Britain St.

Since his arrest, Garza has caused several problems and delays during his court hearings including lunging at one of our photographers and yelling and cursing at his judge and attorneys.

In previous incidents, he's had to be restrained by chains and his mouth was duct taped.

He's also been filing his own court motions from his jail cell.

Most recently, he requested a bond reduction or release from jail because his trial was delayed.
