Many Wichita County residents are continuing to celebrate July 4th with a bang.
And Governor Rick Perry has extended the guidelines that residents must follow when setting off fireworks or face a fine of up to $500.
On July 3rd, Judge Woody Gossom signed an order extending the county fireworks guidelines through midnight on July 5th.
Because the dry conditions show no signs of letting up, Judge Gossom wanted to prevent fireworks from causing any fires.
So he required residents to follow ten guidelines when discharging fireworks in the county.
And now Governor Perry has approved extending those guidelines through midnight on July 31st.
