Traffic on those roads had to be detoured while fire was burning in the median and smoke was reducing visibility. 369 was reopened and 287 was temporarily, but 287 had to be blocked again when flames broke out in the median again.
A command center and staging area for fire equipment is set up at an abandoned truck stop at 369 and 287. Multiple county fire departments, city units and Sheppard Air Force Base units are fighting the fire.
Firefighters said about 30% of a 400 acre wheat field was burning, and it is now contained on all sides.
No homes or structures are believed to be threatened.
As of 6 p.m., officials say the fire is contained.
