"Habitual Forger" Back in Wichita County Jail

- A Wichita Falls man described by police as a habitual forger is back in jail again, just days after he bonded out of jail on new charges.

Thirty-five-year-old Jason Menikheim was booked into jail Saturday morning for bond violations. His most recent arrest was last week just before he was scheduled for a court hearing on previous charges.

The new charges were in connection with forged checks passed at Morrison Supply Company.

Menikheim's previous charges include forging checks to his former employer, a Wichita Falls Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant, numerous other businesses, and even his own father.

Authorities say Menikheim opens bank accounts with minimum deposits to get the routing and account numbers and writes bad checks from these accounts, covering with more bad checks from other accounts. This is known as check kiting.
