Members of local non-profit organizations, community leaders, and volunteers came together to help kick off the Hands to Hands Community Fund's 6th year of fundraising on Monday evening.
The group gathered at the Kemp Center for the Arts to share success stories from the eight Texoma organizations that benefit from the fund including the Arc of Wichita County, Camp Fire, Straight Street and the Boy and Girls Club of Burkburnett.
Ty Thacker, Hands to Hands Vice President, says it's the community's support that has helped make Hands to Hands so successful.
"We're making a difference and that's all we can do as a community; make a difference and change just one life in a young person on a stray or comes out of an abusive family, then that's something we're all proud of," Thacker says.
Thacker says last year, the community fund helped serve over 11,000 youth and seniors in the community.
