Haynes Jr Has Bond Set After Being Charged In Murdering His Father

Bond is set at $75,000 today for the son charged with the murder of his father, who police say never regained consciousness after a fight between the two on easter Sunday.

Kevin Haynes junior is accused of punching 47-year-old Kevin Haynes senior while holding a screwdriver.

Police say Haynes Jr. dropped his father off at United Regional after the assault.

A witness on Polk street told police he saw the two fighting and saw the father fall and hit his head on a curb after being punched.

Police say another man told them he and the two Haynes were in a car and the Haynes began arguing.
He said that Kevin Haynes stopped the car on Polk and he and his father got out and began fighting.

Officers say Haynes Jr admitted grabbing a screwdriver and hitting his father.

When Haynes Sr.  was dropped off at the hospital, staff say he was deceased, but they were able to restart his heart with CPR. Police say he never regained consciousness and was declared dead Friday.
