Wichita Falls, TX (August 1, 2014)—Community Healthcare Center (CHC), 200 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., is marking National Health Center Week 2014 (NHCW) with a week packed full of events. This entire weeklong campaign (August 11-15) is to raise awareness about the mission and accomplishments of America’s Health Centers as local engines for healthier communities.
The week will be kicked off on Monday, August 11th, with educational talks from prominent community organizations. These talks are focused on healthier living and lifestyles. Topics include diabetes, tobacco prevention & cessation, nutrition, child motor vehicle safety and the Health Insurance Marketplace. The educational talks will be offered in the morning from 9:00AM to 11:30AM, and then in the afternoon between 1:30PM and 4:00PM.
Tuesday, August 12th, CHC will be celebrating with Pediatric Day. This day will be packed with story time readers, balloons and special guests. The hours for Pediatric Day are from 9:00AM to 11:30AM, and then from 1:30PM to 4:00PM.
On Wednesday, August 13th, from 10:00AM to 2:00PM there will be a safety fair open to the public. The Wichita Falls Sheriff’s Office, Wichita Falls Police Department, Wichita Falls Fire Department and TXDOT will be on hand with special presentations and opportunities for all ages to enjoy. The Wichita Falls Police Department will be offering free VIN etching. This event will be held in the parking lot directly across the street from the new Phyllis Hiraki Dental Clinic on Lee Street....
