High Winds Cause Burk Grass Fire

High winds early Monday morning are blamed for a grass fire outside of Burkburnett.

The fire started around 4 a.m. on property on River Bottom Road. Burkburnett Volunteer Fire Chief Rodney Ryalls says the high winds blew power lines together which created the spark.

About 5 acres burned and it took crews about an hour to get the fire contained. A crew went back out to monitor hot spots.
